  • Best Protein Powder for Smoothies?

Hi! We make smoothies regularly and my kids love them, but I’m trying to find ways to add protein without ruining the flavor. Any no-taste protein powders you love? We’ve tried milk, milk alternatives, cottage cheese, yogurt, Fairlife protein shakes…but all give it too much of a milky flavor. Would love some ideas!

  • Legit Nervous for Summer

I have elementary aged kids and as Summer approaches I’m finding myself panicking a bit. I love my children but 3 months in the heat while balancing work is just a lot. I wish we could spend the Summer traveling but it’s not in the cards for us, we have one vacation planned to look forward to. Any advice for how to make it through?

  • Expectant New Moms: this bud's for you

I’m thrilled to share something new for our community. For years, Austin has had amazing resources for kids- if you know where to look—but almost nothing just for expectant or first-time moms. We’re changing that. Through Kinda Krazy Kids & Kompany, a beloved 22-year-old local toy store, I'm launching Westlake’s first Mom’s Club for expecting and brand-new moms—and you’re invited to be one of the first to join. As a mom of three young girls and someone who walked through years of trying to become a mom myself, I know how much it means to find people who really get it. My background in community building and my passion for creating safe, joyful spaces for families inspired this new chapter. I truly believe every mom deserves a village—and I’m honored to help build one right here in Austin. Why join? Because preparing for a baby is joyful… and hard. The emotions, the questions, the isolation—it’s a lot. But it shouldn’t be something you do alone. Studies show that new mothers with strong social connections experience up to 50% lower rates of postpartum depression. Just having one supportive peer group can significantly improve mental health and reduce anxiety. According to the CDC, around 1 in 8 women experience postpartum depression—but support and community dramatically reduce risk and severity. We’re here to help change those stats for good. What you’ll get when you join (for FREE!): Exclusive in-person events for expectant and new moms (registry tips, nursery prep, and 4th trimester support) Digital conversations so you can share the highs and lows with women who just get it Real community and resources to walk with you through pregnancy and postpartum First access to beautiful new products, gifts, and helpful tools curated by moms for moms This isn’t just another class or parenting group. It’s a safe space. A place where your story matters and your transition into motherhood is honored. Ready to join us? Fill out this quick form and you’ll be the first to know when we launch events and gatherings: [Join the Mom’s Club] https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSetxNhbLB1FgK_qTxo9h6tf1l-Ywy5-D1k5bi4b3sAujmq3CQ/viewform Thank you for being part of something new. From this small beginning, a whole village will grow. ([image: 1745639938731-screenshot-2025-04-25-10.36.29-pm.png] [image: 1745639938857-screenshot-2025-04-25-10.35.58-pm.png]

  • Family RV Rentals

Anyone here have experience with family RV rentals? We are wanting to go to the mountains for the month of August with our 3 young kids. On initial glance, renting the RV might be more expensive than just getting a home rental?? But we think the experience would be fun!

  • Do I hold my June Baby Back for Kindergarten?

I know it depends on the kid but I'm really conflicted. I feel like he's ready but everyone holds their kids back these days, I don't want him to be behind just by default of everyone else's choices.

  • Men are from Mars… women are from Venus

Does anyone’s husband understand that sex / sexual attraction for the woman starts with emotions and the minute they walk into the house?! I would love my husband to ask me out, engage with me/have a conversation etc and then it’s all fair game later and I am much more into it. Trying to navigate how to show him this?!

  • For Sale: Pikopye's Town

Hey moms, the former Pikopye's Town space off S. Lamar is ready to be taken over. Unfortunately the business was mismanaged and closed a month-ish ago. The Lakeway location is owned independently from this one. The opportunity is to buy the furniture, fixtures and equipment currently in the space, taking over the lease, etc. There are business manuals + computer and POS software that were left behind so you could continue operating pretty soon. I think there is a LOT of upside to this business, though, and could be sooo fun for a local Austin fam. Lease Term: 36 months Free Rent: 2 months gross rent ($23,042) If there's interest I'll link a Google Doc with the details for who to contact to tour the space.

  • Career advice

Hey team, I currently work from home for a title company. What I do is a little “nichey” and am not necessarily looking to stay in the industry. While I do have some flexibility and autonomy I’m not challenged whatsoever and there’s no upward mobility in this role. Add in a funky housing market and I’m simply not making enough money to support our family. I’m looking for something new and don’t know where to start. I need and want flexibility with two young kids but also want a promising, fulfilling career path. Preference to working from home/hybrid. I’m open to looking to new industry. My career trajectory has been more of a jungle gym than a straight line but my experience ranges from nonprofit, design industry and now title industry. Would love to network with any of you that might have some experience with this!

  • After School Nanny - do you offer things like PTO?

We are hiring an after school nanny for a few hours every day. Do you offer things like guaranteed hours, PTO, sick days, etc.? I want to make sure we're being fair and this is an attractive part-time job opportunity, but also child care is expensive AF and I don't want to spend extra dollars if that's not the standard.
