My question is specifically for elementary aged children, but Iβd love any thoughts around this for any age. Do we worry less when the kids are older? Or maybe more?
What do you do with it all? I find myself tossing everything cause I hate clutter. What do you do with all the artwork? I hate to get rid of everything butβ¦
Any advice on making homework less miserable? One of us always ends in tears. I hated homework when I was in school and I double hate it as a parent. Helppppppp waving my white flag before the semester has even started. My later elementary kid has mild adhd.
Any other moms delay kindergarten for their boys? Wondering if anyone held their sons back a year and what the experience was like long-term (socially, emotionally, and academically). Would love to hear your stories!
My 2nd grader refuses to do her homework. Is this normal? It is a struggle every.single.day. The assignment can be something as simple as read for 5 mins., she will read for 3 mins. Math hw: Complete pages 1 and 2. She will complete page 1 and refuse to do 2.What am I missing? What could be the reasons for this? She has no learning disabilities that I know of.
What specific study habits or routines can I help my teenager develop to support their academic success and motivation? He comes across as very unmotivated and I cannot keep nagging him. It's not good for either of us.
My sons birthday is August 31st and the cut off is September 1 for kindergarten. Iβm struggling if I should put him in kinder and make him repeat or if I should put him in a private pre school, he is currently at the public pre school but canβt stay there since he is old enough for kindergarten.. what should I do?
We are really struggling with the decision to send our son with a May birthday to kindergarten here in a few weeks. We go back and forth daily. Heβs doing great academically and pretty well emotionally. Any other moms of boys with May birthdays who have been there and can offer any guidance? I see plenty about June-August! Thank you!!
Afternoon! I have a friend looking to move to Austin before their kiddo starts Kindergarten. They were set on Eanes but with all the recent announcements (Valley View closing, Spanish immersion struggling) they are expanding their search. Anyone have intel on this either in Eanes or elsewhere in Austin? They are open to public or private school. Thanks!
I know it depends on the kid but I'm really conflicted. I feel like he's ready but everyone holds their kids back these days, I don't want him to be behind just by default of everyone else's choices.
My daughter is very young for her grade. She turns 6 end of July and she is currently struggling academically in kindergarten. She is doing great socially/emotionally, but is having trouble with attention and reading. She has improved as the year progresses and the teachers are saying she does not need to repeat kinder. I would like any advice from moms in similar situations.
