Companies that are Pro Work Life Balance/Family
-
Would love to hear from everyone about companies that are family forward. I've heard there are great companies out there that don't just say they are family friendly, but truly are!
For example, flexibility when it comes to kids activities, school related volunteer opportunities etc.
Thinking of this on a U.S. based as a lot of jobs are remote these days!! Let's hear them!

There is a company called The Mom Project that specializes in placing moms in flexible roles. There are additional filters such as "part time", remote only, contract vs salary etc I had a friend who is an attorney find her current position through their website. I love the concept! Hire more moms!!

Chatbooks is the BEST!! I’ve been working there almost 8 years and they have an incredible work life balance with unlimited PTO and most of the positions are remote .

I feel like a lot of the time it’s less about a company-wide reputation but just finding the right teams within them. I know Google for instance has great parental leave (I think my husband got something like 3 months when we had our 2nd) plus a stipend for new parents. But it’s a gamble if you end up on a chill team or not.
I was trying to find some good info online and this blog had a great list of companies that offer daycare AT work which would be pretty sweet: https://www.inhersight.com/blog/inclusive-benefits/companies-that-offer-daycare-at-work

It’s less about the company and more about the manager. Obviously you want to pick a company that shows it values family and work life balance through its policies but it’s another thing to ensure your management has empathy for the working parent. I look at and weigh the manager more heavily than the company itself

I agree with others I think it depends on your Manager. I know I give a lot of leeway with my team - as long as they get their work completed on time to me it doesn’t matter what times of day they do it! We are in Marketing so I can see that being different from perhaps a client facing sales role. As far as large corporations go Schneider Electric is very balanced life focused!

I really think GenZ is helping us in this area. They have opinions and not afraid to share them. There are other struggles lol but I think this will be a positive change that the newest working generation will help make a positive impact

I work in PR/public affairs for a very family friend company in terms of being able to attend school events etc. The difficulty really lies within being client-servicing. All staff, no matter the position, must be available and accountable to clients and during business hours, including getting on phone calls and completing time-sensitive work. I worry about my ability to continue in the roll despite my employers being supportive because of the client-driven nature of the business. I do think communications companies are typically good for moms in terms of flexibility!
