We can’t move from one activity to the next until the previous is picked up, no matter what. Everything has a place. Stay consistent with both (it IS a LOT of REMINDING!!!! - but builds habits over time rather than you doing for them)

At 6pm right before we start dinner, we do a laundry basket dance party. They pick the songs + each kid gets a basket and goes around picking up anything out and putting it in its place (not just toys - clothes on floor, towels in bathroom, shoes by door). Once completed, they earn their “star” that we put in their star jars.

They are also required to make their beds every day. Not perfectly, just giving the effort and taking pride in everyday rhythms. This is part of earning their “star”.

Making stuff at home (albeit time consuming) is the easiest way I’ve found. I make a few things weekly:

• homemade kolaches since lunch meat is no good for you, I’ll make 8-10 for lunches for the week, source sausage best you can
• oatmeal clusters (oatmeal, peanut butter, honey, mini chocolate chips all mixed and rolled up)
• local farmers markets have cool snacks for sure! Make it a weekly staple

Buy:

• skout organics bars
• dried strawberries
• trail mix
• anything from thrive market

Get comfy reading labels and grocery visits taking longer. Your kids health is worth it.

Second the salmon thing!

In AM - I put it in a glass container in fridge with brown sugar, garlic, olive oil and some soy sauce and let it sit - then an hour before dinner I cut it into squares and let it soak more then air fry it (obvi hour before isn’t necessary and you can do as you go, but helps me to cook in phases)

Throw Japanese sweet potatoes in oven an hour prior (so sweet, so healthy and a kid fave) and a veggie on a sheet pan in oven too

Easy easy easy!

We have paid a flat rate of $250/day regardless of whether the day is simple or filled with carpool duties or is a Sunday Monday or Friday, etc.
