@MotherShip ahhh the never ending struggle of mom life/work life balance. It is SO hard! I work in healthcare, so not bringing in tons of money so in a slightly different situation. However, I went from being full time in healthcare to not working at all for a year to stay home and I honestly ended up feeling resentful towards my kids and husband (nothing they said or did, just how I felt). I knew I needed some kind of work to balance it out so now I work part time and am very happy with that. I feel satisfied from work (even though I’m basically making enough to cover childcare and then a little extra 🤪) AND I can be there for my kids to pick them up, volunteer at school, etc. It helps my mental health to have something to call my own (work). As much as I would love to make more financially, I decided that I will have the rest of my life to make more money with a full time job when they’re older, but I won’t be able to get this time back when they’re young and want me at school events, etc. This is just my personal experience! Best of luck!

Face Skin Care HELP!@UnicornLove I am also in my mid 30s and have recently been on the hunt for good clean skin care products. I really like the ilia brand tinted sunscreen, odacite skin care line and osea skin care. I stick to sunscreen, day moisturizer, night moisturizer, vitamin C and hylaronic acid. Hope this helps!

Picking Schools@Curious-Mom hi! We have a first grader at one of the eanes schools in Spanish immersion program and are involved in the merger conversation. They will vote on final decision mid January on if they will merge two elementary schools or spread them out more evenly and if they will keep/modify Spanish immersion. Applying to the schools doesn’t start until March so you will have time to decide once the school district has decided what they’re doing for 2025 year. I would still look into eanes but know that there will be some changes happening the next few years across the district. As for private, there are some great options including: St Michael’s Prep, Regents, Trinity, etc. hope this helps!

Kindergarten Help!@3Under3 Yes to all of the other advice already given! Also, don’t underestimate your child and their ability to be more adaptable than you. My daughter surprised me with how adaptable she was! They grow and mature so much in the year so if your kid struggles first semester just know they will likely do great second semester!

Repeating kindergartenMy daughter is very young for her grade. She turns 6 end of July and she is currently struggling academically in kindergarten. She is doing great socially/emotionally, but is having trouble with attention and reading. She has improved as the year progresses and the teachers are saying she does not need to repeat kinder. I would like any advice from moms in similar situations.
