I think it depends if you’ll be having consistent hours and if it is a “full time” role vs a few hours each day. If full time I think a flat weekly rate could make sense, that being said I have typically just done hourly for our family summer needs.

Hi! We did both depending on what type of nanny they were. For our full-time nanny yes, if they were in college or working part time for us no. What we you decide make sure it is all very clear upfront so there are no surprises!

I did not have experience with a night nurse but I have others who loved them- I feel like it can be so baby dependent. I also know others who went the au pair route and had great experiences.

As far as other extra hand options, having a nanny who is willing to do laundry, light cleaning and meal prep was a win for our family! You have the right approach- help makes everything work so much more efficiently with three young kiddos!

I agree with others I think it depends on your Manager. I know I give a lot of leeway with my team - as long as they get their work completed on time to me it doesn’t matter what times of day they do it! We are in Marketing so I can see that being different from perhaps a client facing sales role. As far as large corporations go Schneider Electric is very balanced life focused!

It is so stressful and hard to work when the kids are little, I totally get it. I often consider stepping back but I also am hesitant to give up a larger salary. One thing to consider is when you’d like to be more available for your kids? When they are little or as they grow. I’ve decided I will step back when my kids are mid-elementary school age so I can dedicate all my attention to them as they grow and problems start to become bigger than having their basic needs met

Breakfast for dinner— French toast, breakfast tacos, etc. Really in a pinch for time it’s quesadillas and a veggie!
