My 1 year old screams and cries like he is in pain when he poops. This started around 12 months. I have tried Prune juice, adding fiber, flax seed and probiotics. Any suggestions to ease my baby with his bm’s? Thank you!

We had this same exact problem with my 1 year old! I was also giving tons of fiber rich foods, and found out that too much of that can actually back them up even more. Mary Ruth's probiotic drops daily changed our lives, he was never constipated again!!!

I would also watch the amount of milk intake, and make sure they are drinking lots more water than milk. I think by now your kid should be not having anymore than like 16-20 oz of milk in the day.

Could be diet related (gluten and or dairy sensitivity). Did it start after antibiotics? If so adding a probiotic can be helpful. “P” fruits can be helpful - think peaches, pears, prunes, etc. Magnesium can be helpful for constipation - leafy greens & legumes are both food sources, but you could also try adding epsom salt to his bath. Chiropractic care can also do wonders for constipation.

My daughter had this problem when she would have a lot of dairy. She’s always been a little sensitive to it (I had to cut it completely when I was nursing her) but seemed to flare up when she had too much! Prune pouches, probiotics in her water, and belly massage seemed to help!
