10lbs is totally doable!! I hate it so much but running is what my body responds best to. Especially sprints/intervals. Decrease alcohol or eliminate if you can. Add in strength training. Watch your diet.

Or ozempic. But you can totally do 10lbs

Want to do the same thing! Just met with naturopath Dr. Leslie White who was so helpful with addressing my metabolic issues as a whole. She recommended the book and diet plan The Fast Metabolism. It is a 1 month plan that resets metabolism and you can eat all sorts of food, but it is no processed food, no gluten and no coffee or alcohol. Plus, definitely getting 30 g of protein every meal and daily exercise mix or weights and cardio! We’ve got this!

I've taken a supplement with berberine in it called Glucosupreme that my naturopathic doctor recommended. I found it to work better for me in terms of blood glucose regulation and reducing belly fat; this is in addition to cleaning up my diet and being consistent with working out. Godspeed!!

Remind yourself that you are in it for the long game of being healthy overtime, not dropping 10lbs in 2 months. Realistically, you’ll need to hang in there over many months (years!) to see your body continue to change positively. The best part is eventually it truly does become a way of life and you won’t feel stuck anymore. Diet and alcohol probably the most important. As others have said you need to make sure you are getting enough protein!!

Getting a nutrition coach and Macro counting! Worth the investment and it’s not as daunting as you think! I have lost 25lb and counting in 4 months. Totally worth it and it really teaches you what your body needs.

@BoyMama best way is to get into a caloric deficit…people hate me when I say this but you just need to eat less and work out everyday. And when I say work out every day I mean walk five miles and do a yoga class. Yes every day. You will feel weird at first then you will get addicted. Go for it!

                1. Keto - Low carb, no sugar
                2. Limit/cut out alcohol
                3. Try to move more than usual for a few weeks to kickstart the body
                  = losing 10 lbs

The hard part is the maintenance to keep it off!

Straight up it’s consuming less calories than you burn. If your mental health and take it, tracking calories in everything - don’t forget added oils, creamer in your coffee, etc. Everyone is different but I stand behind simple strength training and increase steps per day.

We do offer compounded medications like Tirzepatide (Mounjaro)- these are the FDA approved medications for weightloss in our office Refine Aesthetics in Downtown austin along with other cosmetic non surgical offerings. We have carried it for 2 years and have had very successful results for weight loss patients ranging from 5lbs-65lbs.... These medications also help with inflammation, curb cravings and alcohol cravings and other studies have proven decrease in other disease states like cardiovascular disease and dementia.

@BoyMama Totally agree on burning more than you consume! I’ve found that after weight training, I get super hungry, so when I want to burn, I stick to cardio and I'm usually just thirsty. I fast from 8 or 9pm to 10 or 11am (except coffee), have lots of fruit or a fruit/veggie smoothie with protein powder if hungry. Melon and papaya give me the best energy. The rest of the day, I focus on lean protein. A good probiotic for gut and magnesium for sleep/movement. Good luck!

@bluedolphin would love to hear how your experience was with this if you actually did it and it was doable with young children and the mental capacity 😊

@Playdate-Queen ok so I just finished the 28 day fast metabolism meal plan diet and I lost 9 lbs! Which for my 5 foot 2 short stature that’s a good amount and exactly what I wanted to lose. It does require a significant amount of effort to learn the phases and rules, time to meal prep and I basically ate different meals than my kids most nights. The first week was the hardest but once I understood it, the rest of the weeks weren’t so hard. I honestly feel great and am continuing with gluten free and very limited dairy. Highly recommend the book and searching her website! The fast metabolism by Haylie pomroy, has tons of recipes
