Cold lunch ideas
-
My preschoolers need to take a lunch to school each day and they don’t have a way to heat them up. The other day, my 4 year old looked me in the eye, and said deadly seriously, “Don’t EVER send me cold chicken again. EVER.” So I’m looking for inspiration for things to pack in preschool lunches that are kept cold! He doesn’t typically like to eat things cold that are supposed to be served hot (with pasta being an exception weirdly). We’ve done sun butter sandwiches, mix charcuterie (aka pepperoni, cheese, crackers, fruit) and deli meat roll up’s, each with mixed success depending on the kid and the day
What are some things I’m not thinking of??

That’s so funny lol!
Following as we can always use more ideas, but our kids like yogurt (can pop in the freezer for 30min to keep it cold), sliced bell pepper, olives, mandarin oranges, apples, turkey and cheese roll ups, cucumbers, berries, meat sticks/chomp sticks, perfect bars, pesto pasta salad hmmm thinking -
Does your kid like eggs? If so we do ALOT of hard boiled eggs, egg salad sandwiches. We also do chicken salad with crackers to dip. Hummus and cucumbers, peppers and pita. … sounds crazy but our all time favorite is salmon and lox on a bagel. My kids ate that 3x / week since they were 2!!
