Our neighborhood mom facebook group just went off on the Summer scooter gangs hahaha so don't bring them around my neighborhood, they mean business! I do appreciate that they are trying to keep kids safe. The consensus on that group is a hard NO due to kids speeding and being reckless and generally making poor choices.

iPad and Texting for kids@Green-Parrot I LOVE the no group texts rule!!! That feels like it eliminates a lot of issues. Just feels so noisy, it's hard enough getting left out of actual get togethers. Do we need to get left out of group chats in 4th grade too??

When is the best time to start swim lessons?I think it depends on the kid. ISR seems like a great option but as a working mom I couldn't swing the commitment.
I had one kid that was a "runner" so had to start early (2ish).
My other kids were a little more cautious (although i know accidents happen) and we started at 3yrs but they weren't actually swimming until 4yrs and by swimming i mean dog paddling. Freestyle started around 5 yrs -
Screen Time Strategy for SummerGranted it's early so who knows what late july will look like...but we have a checklist of things they have to go through (basic chores like making their bed and picking up their rooms), 20 minutes of reading etc and then they get 45 minutes to watch a show/movie or play a game on the computer. Wish us luck!

My Kids Seeking Connection and Need IdeasHi! I can tell my kids are all seeking attention from me. Which honestly is exhausting but I know is important.
I'm looking for ideas on how to fill their emotional buckets that are also enjoyable for me. I do not like imaginary play...eeek.
Favorite board games, outside games, crafts, date ideas? Hoping to take advantage of this during Summer months. -
Legit Nervous for SummerYes, I feel you. I utilize high school babysitters for a break for myself and for my kids. Summer is a lot of togetherness but come July everyone is ready for a little space. I'll hire a babysitter a couple of times a week for fresh energy in the house while simultaneously giving me a break to do something on my own and recharge. High school is typically cheaper rates than college
