My daughter has curly hair and we tried doing it ourselves twice. I finally gave up and went to the hair fairy. It was worth the money. And, an important piece of advice she gave me is that you don’t actually have to wash anything! You can either 1) put it in a plastic bag for 72 hours or 2) put in the dryer for 2 cycles. Knowing that lice can’t live without being on a human for more than 72 hours made me feel SO much better about all the clothes and stuffed animals and sheets! Also, make sure you keep your kid’s hair in a ponytail or braid for the remainder of the year- that’s a huge preventative measure.

Home + Work + MoneyIt truly depends on your professional skills. I work nearly full time from home and am able to do it because I’m a communications strategist and copywriter— jobs that allow me to do my work without a ton of meetings. I get assignments with due dates and am able to knock them out when I have time. My kids are in school full time, but even when they weren’t I simply took on fewer assignments. So, I recommend finding a virtual gig that aligns with your skill set.
