Mom Rage
-
We have a 3.5 week old and a 5 year old and a 2 year old. How do yall deal with mom rage? I feel like by the time I know I’d need to take a minute, the rage has already happened. How do yall deal with it bubbling up and stopping it before it happens?

Hi! This was me last year! You’re still in the trenches with the newborn. My postpartum rage was a symptom of PPD that I was in denial about for nearly 8 months. Once I started treating my PPD, the rage subsided.

@Gray-Kangaroo thank you! My PPA has been really bad so I’m hoping as I work through that, the rage will subside.

An SSRI helped me a lot but also naming my feeling. I tell my kids "I feel myself getting frustrated" and I think it helps them behavior correct as much as it helps me by giving me a split second. I've done it with my newborns too. I think advocating for what you need. Looking back I always felt bad asking for help from even my partner. Almost like I was asking too much. Which was a total lie, I should've asked for more. It's insane what moms go through during pregnancy and postpartum.
