Hi! My dr recommended tamiflu for my toddler who has the flu. I’ve heard mixed things and experiences, would love to hear from an expert or anyone’s advice!

Previously we've never used tamiflu but felt it was necessary this year due to personal circumstances in our family. My three kids have not had any issues and the flu A positive kid only had a fever for 24 hours and the other 2 did not get the flu.
I totally understand your concerns, it's historically been my concern too. Fortunately my kids did okay!

We did not use it for our son when he got it this week and it passed super quickly! Then I took tamiflu and my husband since we were both direct contacts and we didn’t get sick at all - so grateful! Then my daughter got the flu a few days later (she’s 11). She tried it and immediately threw up a ton (one of the side effects). We stopped giving it to her and she’s so much better without it. So kind of mixed opinions, but I feel like as an adult I can better pinpoint any possible side effects in myself and same with my older children, but I was hesitant about giving it to my youngest when he had it last week.

I've worked with a holistic pediatrician who recommended we pass on the tamiflu. That being said, whatever helps give you less anxiety is the right choice for your family!
