We are hiring an after school nanny for a few hours every day. Do you offer things like guaranteed hours, PTO, sick days, etc.? I want to make sure we're being fair and this is an attractive part-time job opportunity, but also child care is expensive AF and I don't want to spend extra dollars if that's not the standard.

Hi! If they are an ACTUAL nanny - yes. If they are just a college girl or out of college and more of a babysitter I don't think you would need to. We pay our nanny every week the same amount no matter if she's sick or has taken the time off.

I agree with the other poster that there is a different in career nanny and college girl. Another determining factor is the number of hours they work. If it’s part time then I technically don’t think you have to provide paid PTO days, but I could be wrong. Hopefully someone in HR can chime in bc now I’m thinking about it…

Hi! We did both depending on what type of nanny they were. For our full-time nanny yes, if they were in college or working part time for us no. What we you decide make sure it is all very clear upfront so there are no surprises!

No! Never offered PTO but did a lot of little things to make our full time nanny happy like bringing her flowers, cutting her early, feeding her, etc.
