I did survival swim lessons with two of my kids last year, and I was amazed at how well they did. We moved into a house with a pool, and a fence and survival swim lessons were both musts for me. My kids were 3 and 19 months when we started lessons. They made progress every single day. My 3 year old came out of lessons swimming across the pool. The toddler came out able to float, and he was starting to turn and swim. It is an investment - over $600 for each for us, but definitely worth it for us. Also, I have a 10 year old that I did traditional lessons starting when she was a baby, and she never made progress until she was 7. Another thing to consider is that they will lose their skills if they don't practice. I did refresher lessons this spring with my now two year old, and he picked it back up and progressed beyond what he learned in the first round.
