Kids passport help!
-
I have waited too long and I need to get my kids passports in less than 6 weeks. Do I still need to expedite it, and if so where do I start and are there any recommendations of places to go in Austin?
All the tips would be greatly appreciated!

Austin Central Library downtown. They have full time staff that does only passports and some toys for kids to play while you do the paperwork. Make an appointment, fill out the paperwork ahead of time and go there with your checkbook and your child’s birth certificate and Social Security card. Both parents need to be present. They take photos there. We just did this a month ago and it was seamless. My boys went to the kids area afterwards to read some books so win/win!

We used this one on the UT campus: https://global.utexas.edu/passport
They were easy to make an appointment, quick once we got there and there is an expedite option. -
Ask them how long it takes. And if it’s more than six weeks, you will have to pay for expedited. If the passport doesn’t arrive two weeks before your flight and I’ve already purchased the tickets you can call them and they will make sure the Passport arrives before your flight. This worker have to pay the expedited at submission.
