Hi! So my 4th grader asks for play dates every single day, I’ve explained we don’t do same day play dates due to homework, dinner, bedtime, etc. and since it puts so much pressure on the moms and last minute figuring out of all the things. Am I being a jerk? Do your kids have multiple play dates throughout the week? Should I be scheduling more and trying to make it happen? With my work schedule, homework, and managing multiple kids it seems overwhelming but my oldest thinks I’m ruining her life… would love to know if everyone else is easy going and maybe I am just overwhelmed by figuring it all out?

We do one of Fridays and maybe one more if it's a light week in other areas of our lives. I know other families who do them constantly and I don't get how they do it. My kids need time to chill at home in their own space and not rush around/be with friends constantly. I also like the family time but do think having friends over is important too. 1-2 times a week max. Usually on weekends we get togther with other families

I hate having play dates.. it’s a lot with 3 kids and that’s my excuse. We have incredible neighbors who are roughly the same age and have mini playdates throughout the week.. nothing formal, just running in the front yards and going from house to house.

We pick one day / week that is a “play date” day. They can play outside in the front lawn with neighbors but official playdates are saved for one day / week. Set the boundaries early!

I have 3 kids and we are doing maybe once every 2 weeks….We have great neighbor kids that play outside almost daily though so that helps keep them busy.

We do maybe one a week per kid but bonus if you can double up more than one kid! One thing I do with a friend who has kids close in age is trade kids so they can get some individual time. I’ll take the younger ones one day and she’ll take the older ones or vice versa.

This is such a pet peeve of mine. We also don't do same day play dates. My kids get one a week (maybe). It's gotta just work out. My kids also need downtime at home whether they realize it or not. They don't do well over scheduled

We do probably 1 a week it’s so hard with activities for us to do more especially with multiple kids to try to do them for! Solidarity ha

we don’t do a ton but I let them play with the neighbors and they see kids at sports! we have two kids in walking distance and that’s great. I tell the kids to stay outside often.
