Our CC bill is always around 20k a month. This includes daycare and utilities. I feel like this is really high? We don’t spend extravagantly-is it really just this expensive to live?

Right there with you. Ours was $17,000 last month. Childcare and food are our biggest expenses. I’m certain meal planning would help cut back but I work full time and that’s something I can’t commit to right now

Yes … with daycare ours is around that as well. Ditto on food … and I do meal prep and try to shop three stores like a crazy person to bring it down and it’s still astronomical. I don’t have any advice but I do have sympathy because it’s crazy. We aren’t “splurgers” and really try to be mindful. It’s … staggering. Not sure how many families do it, and I say that with a heavy dose of gratitude. 😨

I ask myself this everyday @LoveThisChapter how do people do it??? Life is so expensive. Ours can fluctuate but it's never lower than $15k. That's even with doing breakfast for dinner once a week and packing lunches for my kids

Have you tried a financial app like Origin? You can link it to your accounts and easily see your biggest categories of spending. It helped me see some areas where we were overspending.

Agree with the app, we have rocket money (or something like that). Sadly my door dashing had to go down once we could see the total. It adds up quick!!

Ours is ALSO outrageous last month it was over $20K and it was scary... i know we eat out WAY too much but also with sports and life and being a working mom I am not sure when I would find the time to meal prep etc. Would love to hear advice from a financial expert or budget expert!!

Cost of living has drastically increased over the last few years!! Every so often we print off a few months of statements and go through them. One time I noticed I had mistakenly signed up for a monthly subscription and I had no idea nor was I getting updates every month that I did so I was spending $20 unnecessarily. I also think coffee, gas stations, eating out can add up quickly!

First time in a while we haven’t been able to fully pay off our credit card for the month. Averaging about 18-21k a month. Kids are damn expensive!!!!

$12,000-$14,000 SAHM so no childcare costs. Although I can already tell it will be higher this Summer.

I’m with you here! But the best option is to use credit cards that work to your advantage. Sign up for the Barclays Upromise Card and connect your points to a 529 account. Spending money BUT all the points go to a college fund if you connect it to a 529. We put all expenses on two credit cards and for the Upromise we have earned nearly $9k in my oldest’s 529 the last few years just in those points alone. Also, sign up for cards that work to your advantage- Marriott Bonvoy will offer points for free hotel rooms and vacations for all the credit card usage!

Our cc bill combined is probably around $6000 a month but we pay it off fully

We have different cards for business expenses vs personal. The range can be a total of 8000 to 20,000

It can vary but between 30k-50k depending on vacation, gifts, etc. Our credit cards are treated as our bank account, so it’s paid off monthly in full. Would love to budget more but it’s not always easy
