Where should I take my daughter to get ears pierced?
-
Our pediatrician did ours!

We did Claire’s with no issues. I’ve had friends take their girls to Rowan. Pricier and less convenient but likely better
-
Diablo Rojo - heads up it is a tatoo parlor, they are known for kid piercings. I liked how they took the time to make sure the dots were aligned and in the exact spot, we had a great experience there.
If you are looking for a place that is not a tattoo shop, I've heard GREAT things about Rowan. Nurses do the piercings and you can make an appointment, we've had lots of friends go there and had a wonderful experience.

We are in the same time of life looking into this. The two spots that keep coming up highly recommended in Austin are Andy at Diablo Rojo or Shaman Modifications (both tattoo parlor like atmospheres). Although the atmosphere may not be as "kid friendly / pretty" my friend said they were WONDERFUL with kids and really took the time to make sure they were even, and are very serious about their process.
They both use super clean, sterilized needles and insert surgical-grade titanium earrings with special locking backs that are super safe.

We went to Rowan Central Park by central market north and it was a fantastic experience! All run by nurses and very kid friendly. Highly recommend,

Whatever you choose, make sure to choose someone using a needle if you want accuracy.
Tatoo parlor vibe and very experienced, highly recommend seeing “pineapple” at Shaman Modifications.
Rowan- prettier, more kid friendly vibe. They used needle not a gun on my daughter.
Great experience at both. I’ve had friends have a terrible experience at Claire’s unfortunately.

@pinkpuppy we have done all the things…terrible Claire’s mishap that ended with one half pierce and we left, Dr. Grandad piercing at home, and Rowan.
I can’t say enough AWESOME things about ROWAN! It’s so clean, a nurse does the piercing and it’s such a fun experience!
We made a whole evening of it with dinner at Central Park on N Lamar and then finished up with piercing!
Please do not let a 16 year old pierce your child’s ears, I made the mistake of trying to go there because we wanted it to be done that day, trust me it’s worth the wait to get it done correctly!!
ROWAN is sure to make it extra special!

@MotherShip I’ve had piercings at both places (cartilage) and would not bring a young child there. I’d probably wait until middle school, although they are the piercing professionals. Just a vibe that could be considered scary to younger kids

@Black-Zebra this is good to know - THANK YOU!
