Would love to hear all the natural ways that people are avoiding the flu, and boosting their immunity!!

Long-term, having a healthy diet, adequate sleep, and exercise can all boost the immune system. If you or a family member commonly get sick, taking a deeper dive into gut health via stool testing & labs can be helpful.
In the short term Viracid by Orthomolecular is a great immune boosting supplement and available through my Fullscript https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/dockatiept
Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Zinc, NAC, probiotics, and elderberry are all good immune boosting supplements in times of heightened illness.
If the flu hits, all the previously listed supplements, salt & iodine baths, Oscillococcinum, other homeopathy based on symptoms in addition to staying hydrated and resting may help you feel better faster.

We do Vitamin D all year round but make sure not to skip a dose in the winter months. We also high dose it once a week (obvi talk to your pediatrician about this first).
Other than that I send hand sanitizer to my kid's classrooms and extra clorox wipes and pray to the flu gods to spare us.
Oh, I also cut back on my kids activities to make sure they're getting at least 5 nights of solid sleep a week in the winter. They need it. Lots of low key hanging right now over break instead of running them ragged. -
We’re in austin so it’s a little easier with the nice weather but we are doing all play dates outside during winter break. 50% of my child’s elementary school was absent largely due to flu A before going out on break. Oof!
Other than that washing hands, currently detoxing sugar from Christmas, getting outside in sunshine everyday, all the normal stuff

Luckily we have escaped it this year so far but last year I took Xofluza and I think it helped? I don’t live the side effects from Tamiflu so I try to avoid it but we did fine with Xofluza. If I remember correctly they have to be a certain weight or age (maybe 5yrs old?). It’s not natural, a pharmaceutical but worth mentioning!

There have been great ideas already mentioned! The best ways to boost immunity for the entire family are to optimize sleep, minimize stress (support those adrenals), have your vitamin d levels tested to be sure you aren’t deficient, and focus on a clean diet while eliminating added sugar and processed foods. Sugar suppresses the immune system, making you more susceptible to illness while also decreasing your body’s ability to fight any active infection. 75% of the immune system starts in the gut, so optimizing gut health is also super important. As mentioned, Vitamins A, C and D, zinc, specific mushrooms and many antimicrobial herbs help boost the immune system. Gaia Kids has wonderful herbal products for kids. My basic go-to for adults is either Wellness Formula or Bio-Vegetarian (Priority One). Stay healthy!

Loving all the support for the Vitamins, Zinc and added sleep! Flu is running rampant in our area and school right now it seems and our youngest just was hit with it few days ago. We have the kids take vitamins all year, but when we have something hit us we love boosting the immune system with the above vitamins, Virakid and many of the herbal tinctures from Wild Holistic. Those with continued fluids of Manuka Honey, lemon, ginger and sometimes incorporate elderberry, star anise and turmeric .
