Best Tablet option for kids?

What is the best tablet option these days? I know a lot of people have Amazon fire tablets (I don't find them user friendly), but open to them. Would love more info on certain models etc. .

I’m also interested in this as we don’t currently own tablets. If we fly then my kids watch a movie on a shared laptop and use a headphones splitter or they each get an air pod.

Grandparents bought the kids the Amazon Fire Tablets and I also find them not user friendly. I know it's expensive, but I like the ipad the best. Our 3 kids share an older one we had. We do not pay for service on it, but we like to download movies and games. Then they can watch when we travel.
